Its not even a week since the election, and it is already clear that President-Elect Obama is looking to be a man of action. Reviewing ALL of the policy decisions — and blunders — of the previous administration — is a great start. As is change.gov, the newly launched site outlining the policy decisions and transition steps he plans to take, as he is taking them.
Imagine, a President that is actually interested in keeping people informed. Bush’s years in office were marked by a glaring lack of transparency and lack of basic communication with the American people. From few-and-far-between press conferences (in fact the fewest of any President in modern history) to the oft unknown whereabouts of Dick Cheney, the entire administration was run behind closed doors, and the basic mantra was: “Leave us alone and don’t dare question our decisions.”
If Obama’s first actions are any indication, the winds of change are indeed blowing.
Meanwhile, Bush gets the lowest rating in Presidential history to add to his list of accomplishments.
